This week, I finished a piece that has been both a labor of love and a quiet internal struggle. It’s a 15x30" canvas, a space where flowing blues dance and ripple across the surface, their movement calm yet alive. Every curve and wave was crafted with the smallest brush, each stroke intentionally slow, building layer upon layer of tranquil energy.

And then, there’s the red. It cuts through the calm like fire—sharp and striking, full of life and intensity. Is it anger, or is it passion? Perhaps it’s both. That’s for you to decide. Art has a way of meeting us where we are, reflecting back what we bring to it.

But what about me, the artist? I hesitated to finish this piece, as I often do with larger works. There’s something about that final stroke that feels daunting. Once it’s done, it’s no longer an evolving creation—it’s just there. It’s vulnerable, exposed to be seen, felt, and yes, possibly even rejected.

I sometimes question why I create pieces like this. Is it self-expression? A search for meaning? A conversation I don’t yet fully understand? These questions linger, yet here it is, shared with you now.

This piece has been both an exploration and a release. The flowing blues remind me of the calm I long for, while the fiery red challenges me to confront the energy I hold inside—whether it’s frustration, passion, or something else entirely.

Art is a dialogue. So here it is, ready to start the conversation. I hope you find a piece of yourself in it, just as I found pieces of myself while creating it.

Thank you for sharing in this moment with me. Here's to the beauty of creating—and the courage to let it be seen.
